Time Dimension of Feng Shui
From 4 Feb 2024, we will be moving from Period 8 into Period 9. This period will end on
4 Feb 2044 (20 years) and is represented by the Purple Star (Star 9).
Stars that were previously beneficial may decline in its' effects and stars that were previously inauspicious will improve over time.
Period 9
Star 9 has the following characteristics:
It sits in the center palace of the period 9 chart.
It sits in the south of the Lou Shu Chart.
It is of the element Fire which relates to passion, courage, sophistication, sociability.
It is associated with the Li (离) Gua of the later trigrams.
It represents the middle-aged female group.
It denotes success, power, career, innovation & technology focus, academic excellence.
It is also related to the heart / eyes.
Flying Star for 2024 Year of the Wood Dragon
The #3 Hostile Star will take the center palace for the
Year 2024. The table below shows the impact of the different stars in 2024.
Centre Sector - 祿存星 Green Star 3 (Wood Element)
As the #3 Star is in the center palace for 2024, it has an overall impact on the wellbeing of the entire family and all sectors of the house. Brings about arguments, disputes and in the worst case, may bring about legal issues. Afflicted areas include bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector. REMEDIES Remove Water and Wood elements in this sector to reduce the strength of Wood element (i.e. fish tank, potted plants, etc.). Consider introducing Fire element to reduce the strength of Wood. This could be items that represent fire such as red painting, red carpet, red tablecloth, etc.
Southeast Sector - 巨門星 Black Star 2 (Earth Element)
#2 Star is starting to become more positive in period 9. However, as we are in the early part of Period 9, it needs some time to transit from Period 8 to Period 9 effects. This star is afflicted with illness and is still unstable, caution must be taken to activate this star to prevent activating the residual negative impact. In the year 2024, the #2 star is strong. In addition, this sector is also afflicted with the Tai Sui. It will have an impact on the eldest daughter in the family, those born in the year of the dragon and snake. Bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector will also be impacted. REMEDIES Place a Hulu here to reduce the negative impact of the #2 star. Avoid having those who are ill reside in this sector. To minimize the impact of the Tai Sui, Keep sector quiet and avoid doing any renovation in this sector. Place a pair of Pixiu in this sector to appease the Tai Sui.

#7 Star brings dangers of violence, robberies, and aggressive behaviors. It should be remedied to reduce the effects that the Star brings. For 2024, the 3 killings also sit in this sector. It affects those born in the year of the horse, middle women / daughter of the family and also those areas include bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector. REMEDIES Avoid staying out late or quiet areas. Reduce / remove Metal and Earth elements in this sector. Introduce Water element to reduce strength of Metal. Blue Rhino and Elephant are ideal cures. Have a set of Chi Lin, Fu Dog and Pi Xiu placed in this sector to appease the 3 killings.
Southwest Sector - 右弼星 Purple Star 9 (Fire Element)
#9 Star symbolizes career, promotion, success, celebration. In Period 9, it will take on the role of the primary wealth star.
For 2024, it will benefit those born in the year of the Sheep and Monkey, matriarch of the family.
It is also a good sector to host celebrations, work, study, or rest in. Beneficiary areas include bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector.
ENHANCERS
Can activate this sector by introducing Wood (Green color) or Fire (Red color) elements.
West Sector - 廉貞星 Yellow Star 5 (Earth Element)
The #5 Star is also known as the 5 Yellow (Misfortune Star). It is the strongest afflicted star in terms of negative energy. It brings about misfortunes, bad luck, lawsuits, accidents, serious illness, and even possibly death.
In Year 2024, the 5 yellow stars is strong supported by the Earth elements for Period 9.
It affects those born in the year of the Rooster, youngest daughter of the family. Bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector will also be afflicted.
REMEDIES
Minimize activities and keep this sector quiet if possible. Do not disturb this sector with digging, drilling, hammering, knocking, etc.
Remove Fire and Earth elements in this sector to reduce the strength of Earth element. Introduce Metal element to reduce the strength of Earth.
The 5 Element Pagoda is a powerful cure for the Misfortune Star.
Northwest Sector -文曲星 Green Star 4 (Wood Element)
In Period 9, the #4 Star has turned untimely. Do exercise caution when enhancing this sector.
In 2024, #4 star will be strong, supported by the water element of Period 9. As this star also governs romance and relationships and with it seated at the Northwest sector for 2024, it is important to ensure that this sector is being remedied.
It will impact the Patriarch of the Family, those born in the year of Dog and Boar and also important rooms and sectors of a house.
REMEDIES
Remove previous #4 star enhancements, Water or Wood Elements from this sector. Introduce Fire or Metal Elements into this sector.
When enhancing this sector for academic purposes, do look out for ornaments with scholastics effects.
North Sector - 左輔星 White Star 8 (Earth Element)
In period 8, it represents wealth. In period 9, the effects of #8 star have diminished. As such, care must be taken to activate or enhance this Star. Especially when the sector is also afflicted with the 5 Yellow or the illness star which will enhance its affliction of both #5 and #2 stars.
It will benefit the middle son of the family, those born in the year of the Rat. Bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector will also benefit from the effects of the #8 star.
ENHANCERS
To activate the benefits of the #8 star, use only symbolic wealth ornaments. For example, Wealth Pots, Money Tree, etc. in the sector.
Northeast Sector - 武曲星 White Star 6 (Metal Element)
The #6 Star represents luck and blessings from the heavens. It empowers leadership and opens doors to help from mentors and influential people. It also brings about windfall luck.
It benefits the youngest son of the family, those born in the year of the Ox and Tiger. Beneficiary areas include bedrooms, living/dining area, main entrance, study in this sector.

Keep the sector bright and clean. Introduce metal or earth elements to enhance the metal energy in this sector.
East Sector - 貪狼星 White Star 1 (Water Element)
This is the future prosperity star in Period 9. It brings about success in finances, career, and overall luck. It also helps to overcome challenges and competitions.
This sector will need enhancement as the #1 Star is weakened by the Period 9 wood energy of this sector.
